Stonewall Scotland LGBT Allies, Role Model and Reunion Programmes

Members are asked to consider participation in Stonewall programmes, outlined in the advert below, which have been developed by Police Scotland in association with Stonewall Scotland.

Police Scotland is committed to creating an inclusive environment for its entire staff; the best employers recognise that they have to proactively create a workplace culture which naturally enables role models to emerge and they recognise the importance of having good leaders at every level.

We are delighted to announce that Stonewall Scotland are working with us to deliver a one day LGBT Allies Programme, a one day Role Model Programme and a half day LGBT Allies and Role Models Reunion Programme.

One Day Stonewall Allies Programme * For anyone who does not identify as LGBT

(0930 – 1730 hrs, 7th October 2015 – Tulliallan)

To empower allies to be active change agents, creating more inclusive workplaces for your LGBT colleagues and for everyone else.

Outcomes include:-

  • To step up as a positive ally in your workplace
  • Demonstrate the value of positive role modelling throughout the organisation
  • Share best practice and support LGBT initiatives across the organisation

One Day Stonewall LGBT Role Models programme *For those identifying themselves as LGBT

(0930 – 1730 hrs, 8th October 2015 – Tulliallan)

To empower LGBT role models to be active change agents, creating more inclusive workplaces for your LGBT colleagues and for everyone else

Outcomes include:-

  • Understanding what it means to be yourself in the workplace
  • Achievable ways to step up as a positive role model in the workplace
  • Share best practice and support LGBT initiatives across the organisation

Half Day Stonewall Reunion Programme (0930 – 1330 hrs, date to be confirmed)

To bring together participants of the LGBT Allies and Role Model Programmes six months later to reflect on actions put into place and identify ways of working together going forward.

During this Programme we will reflect on barriers faced and share best practice in overcoming these as well as bringing together a collective group who actively demonstrate the value of positive role modelling throughout the organisation .

There are limited places available for this valuable training opportunity. It is open to police officers and staff at all levels and across the entire organisation.
